Video Presentation of GPR Findings

Nevada AmArcs graciously invited Friends of Midas (FOM) to participate in their meeting on April 10, 2024. Gathering at the Desert Research Institute (DRI) in Reno, approximately 60 AmArcs and FOM members were joined by more than a dozen online viewers for a presentation about the DRI’s ground-penetrating radar project at the Midas Cemetery. It was scheduled for one hour, but the audience’s curiosity and engagement extended it out to nearly 90 minutes.

Most of the presentation was recorded, and the video begins with Dr. Dana Bennett (FOM President) providing background about the history of the town of Midas and its cemetery. At about the 22-minute mark, she turns the podium over to Dr. Teresa Wriston and Dr. Nathan Chellman (both of DRI) who discuss their field work at the Midas Cemetery in August 2023. They dive into their findings and interpretations at about the 43-minute mark. The Q&A period begins around the 1-hour mark, although some audience questions are sprinkled throughout the presentation.

Enjoy the video!
